Please allow me to draw your attention to a conference that might of interest to some of the members of this list.
The Working Group for Premodern Japanese Literature (Arbeitskreise Vormoderne japanische Literatur) will mark its 25th annual meeting with the symposium "Poetics of the Palimpsest: Parody and Satire as an Expression of Continuity in Japanese Literature" to be held at Heidelberg University from 27-29 November 2026, with the generous support of the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung.

At the end of August, two new digital image and data presentations went online on CrossAsia (crossasia.org). They expand the portfolio of electronic resources on Taiwan within the CrossAsia database portal to include materials that would otherwise have remained invisible, made available under the CC-BY-NC-SA license:

The “Kuzushiji Workshop,” continuously organised by NIJL and EAJRS since 2011, will be held 25–27 February 2026 at the Berlin State Library. Please note that this will be an in-person workshop only — it will not be offered as an online format.
