2026 Grants

The European Association of Japanese Resource Specialists (EAJRS) especially wishes to encourage the participation to its conference of resource specialists and young scholars from institutions with limited financial means or that have seldom or never attended an EAJRS conference. Therefore, with support from the Toshiba International Foundation, the organizers of the 36th EAJRS conference in Leiden would like to offer scholarships, which will include:

The 21st Forum on the Collaborative Reference Database Project

The Collaborative Reference Database (CRD) is a tool for providing reference services, that is being developed by the National Diet Library, Japan (NDL) in collaboration with libraries throughout Japan. The CRD currently comprises about 180,000 records of queries from library patrons together with answers prepared by reference librarians and is available for browsing by the general public.

Connecting the World with Intelligence and Culture: NLK-NDL

Dear Colleagues,

As the National Library of Korea (NLK) celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2025, it has set forth in its annual major work plan the vision statement Connecting the World with Intelligence and Culture and is implementing a number of progressive measures in response to the current information environment.

Kuzushiji workshop 2026 accepting applications

The “Kuzushiji Workshop,” continuously organised by NIJL and EAJRS since 2011, will be held 25–27 February 2026 at the Berlin State Library. Please note that this will be an in-person workshop only — it will not be offered as an online format.
