CiNii Researchにおけるブックチャプターの「見える化」とALA-LCローマ翻字付与を目的とした実験的取り組み
国立情報学研究所が運営するCiNii Researchでは、図書や雑誌論文などのさまざまなコンテンツを検索することができるが、「日本研究」の中心をなすような人文社会系の研究にとって重要な位置づけにある図書収載論文や記事への対応は十分なものとは言い難い。その理由はいくつか考えられるが、一つには日本国内において、これら図書というコンテンツを構成する「章」や「部」といった「マイクロコンテンツ」のレコードがほとんど作成されてこなかったことにある。このため、いわゆる図書の形式で出版された「論文集」などに収載された論文や記事は、CiNii Researchの検索結果としてリスト化されることはなく、その著者業績も十分に「見える化」されてこなかった。これは日本国外の大手学術出版社から出版される図書が、マイクロコンテンツのレコードを作成し、ウェブスケールディスカバリーなどに積極的に流通させ、これらの可視化を促進してきた状況とは大いに異なるものであり、国内外における日本の学術情報へのアクセスを阻害する要因となっている。そこで本発表では、その状況を改善するためのマイクロコンテンツのレコードを生成し、流通させるための取り組みについて報告する。またCiNii Researchの国際化と日本研究での活用を念頭に、これらレコードの生成時に「章」や「部」のタイトルにALA-LCローマ翻字を付与するための試みについても言及する。
Experimental Effort to Visualize Book Chapters and Assign ALA-LC Roman Transliterations in CiNii Research
CiNii Research, operated by the National Institute of Informatics, is able to search a wide variety of contents such as books and journal articles, but it can hardly be said to be adequate in dealing with papers and articles in books, which is an important position for research in humanities and social sciences, such as the center of "Japanese studies". There are several reasons for this, but one of them is that almost no records of "microcontents" such as "chapter" and "part" that constitute the contents of these books have been created in the country. Therefore, papers and articles that have been included in the so-called "collection of articles" in book form are not listed in the search results of CiNii Research, and their authors' achievements have not been sufficiently visualized. This is very different from the situation in which books published by major academic publishers outside of Japan have promoted the visualization by creating records of microcontents and actively distributing them through Web-scale discovery, etc. This is a factor that hinders the access to Japanese academic information both inside and outside of Japan. Therefore, in this presentation, I will report on an attempt to generate and distribute records of microcontents to improve the situation. In light of the internationalization of CiNii Research and its utilization in Japanese studies, I will also mention the attempt to give ALA-LC Roman transliteration to the titles of "chapter" and "part" when generating these records.
