The Asahi Shimbun (Tsuyoshi Fujita)
朝日新聞社の「朝日新聞クロスサーチ」は、1879年（明治12年）の創刊号から今日まで 146年にわたる紙面から約1700万件の記事・広告が検索できる日本国内最大級の新聞記事データベースです。日本国内外の多くの大学や図書館などでご利用いただいています。
●記事1985～
1985年以降の記事は全文検索方式で、テキスト本文を表示して読むことができます。朝日新聞デジタル（一部のコラムなど）や雑誌「AERA」「週刊朝日」の記事も収録されています。
●「朝日新聞縮刷版1879～1999」
発行当時のままの紙面イメージで収録しており、、[明治・大正]、[昭和（戦前）]、[昭和戦後]、[平成]の4つの時代について記事検索が可能です。
●「朝日新聞縮刷版 全国の地域面」
都道府県ごとに発行している地域面を収録しています。収録期間は、概ね1935年～1999年です。

◆アサヒグラフ
1923年（大正12年）に創刊されたグラフ雑誌で、1956年（昭和31年）までの約2000冊の誌面イメージをカラーでデジタル収録。大正末期から昭和の戦前・戦時期にかけての社会状況や国民意識を照らす貴重な歴史的資料として活用できます。
◆朝日新聞歴史写真アーカイブ
満州事変の前後から敗戦までの間、アジア各地へ派遣された特派員や記者が撮影した写真約1万枚をデータベース化。戦場の写真だけでなく、市民の日常生活を捉えた写真も多数含まれています。歴史研究者によって選定された、歴史的価値の高い資料で構成されています。
◆朝日新聞 戦前の外地版
朝日新聞社が昭和戦前に旧植民地である戦時下の台湾、朝鮮、中国、旧満州（中国東北部）などで発行していた地域面を収録しています。過去の植民地に関する出来事や歴史を調べるのに有用な資料です。
Asahi Shimbun Cross-Search, operated by the Asahi Shimbun Company, is one of the largest newspaper article databases in Japan. It allows users to search approximately 17 million articles and advertisements published over 146 years, from the inaugural issue in 1879 (Meiji 12) to the present day. The database is widely used in universities and libraries both in Japan and abroad.
● Articles 1985-Present
Articles from 1985 onward are searchable by full text, allowing users to view and read the actual article content. The database also includes articles from Asahi Shimbun Digital (including some columns) and magazines such as AERA and Weekly Asahi.
● Digitized Archive 1879-1999
These editions are archived as full-page image reproductions of the original newspapers. Articles can be searched across four historical periods:
- Meiji & Taisho
- Showa (Pre-war)
- Showa (Post-war)
- Heisei
● Regional pages-1999
This collection contains regional pages issued in each prefecture. The archive generally covers the period from around 1935 to 1999.
The following resources are especially valuable for research in modern and contemporary Japanese history:
◆ Asahi Graph 1923-1956
A photojournalism magazine first published in 1923 (Taisho 12), with around 2,000 issues digitized in color through 1956 (Showa 31). It serves as an important historical source that reflects the social conditions and public sentiments from the late Taisho period through prewar and wartime Showa.
◆ Historical Photo Archive
This database contains around 10,000 photographs taken by correspondents and reporters dispatched to various parts of Asia from around the time of the Manchurian Incident until the end of the war. It includes not only battlefield photos but also many images depicting everyday life of civilians. The materials, selected by historical researchers, hold significant historical value.
◆ Overseas Editions 1935-1945
This collection includes regional pages published by the Asahi Shimbun in Japan’s former colonies and occupied territories—such as wartime Taiwan, Korea, China, and Manchuria (northeastern China)—during the prewar Showa era. It is a valuable resource for researching past colonial events and histories.
